Now, stop imagining things and come to A Day of Shibari, where you'll be able to see and learn what you've only previously surfed for on the `Net.

A type of Japanese sexual bondage, Shibari differs from Western bondage in that, instead of just immobilizing or restraining the bottom, the bottom gains pleasure from being under the pressure and strain of the ropes. The aesthetics of the bound person's position are also important. In particular, Japanese bondage is notorious for its use of asymmetric positions to heighten the psychological impact of bondage. Shibari first appeared in Japanese history in the 1600's.

Today, Shibari is also wearable rope art as well as sensuous restraint, and the Journeyman II Academy California's Master Loki will be on hand to share his generous wealth of knowledge with us. He'll walk us through safety, basic knots, harnesses, bikinis, a rope corset and even some suspension. (Yes, there will be something pretty dangling from the rafters.)

About the Instructor:

Master Loki has taken rope classes with Lou Duff, the Knotty Boys, and studied privately with Fetish Diva Midori. He founded the rope bondage peer workshops held monthly in San Francisco and San Jose, and he DMs at community events when possible. He has also rigged for some bondage oriented web sites, and was a judge for the TKB Rope Bondage Tie Off held at Club Shibari in September 2004. Loki is a graduate of the Journeyman III Academy in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the coordinator of J3A of California. He has also taught at SM Odyssey and Utah Power Play. Fetish Temple Presents: Deborah Addington Play Piercing

Play piercing. Sounds like a contradiction in terms, right? Not so! Even the needle-phobic can learn to love the temporary sub-dermal insertion of sterile hypodermic lances for pleasure and pain (the good kind!).

To feel the sweet slide of cold steel through skin afire with the heat of passion, to get under the skin and into the senses of another is like nothing else. The sweet sting that doesn't hurt, the bloom of skin heat as blood runs towards the intruding metal, wondering, "What is this new, foreign thing?" will show you a range of feeling from warm, lovely rush to endorphin junkie's dream.

Humboldt local, national BDSM conference presenter, infamous author and Club Risque's own Dungeon Master Deborah Addington is pleased to share her knowledge and wisdom with her community. This beginning play piercing class will focus on basic anatomy, safety and technique; it includes lecture, demonstration and practicum. Come learn the basics of this exquisite skill from an experienced body piercer and longtime needle freek!

This beginning class will be a required pre-requisite for those wishing to participate in later advanced play piercing classes which will focus on more eclectic piercing sites, attachments, and temporary body art such as "corseting" and "weaving." A ball dance and flesh pull are in the works; this class is essential!
